| Case Studies - Winpac - Paper and board
converter |
| The background |
Winpac,
formerly part of the m-real group, are an independently owned
sheeting and logisitcs service. With 3 locations in Europe
(UK, Netherlands and Germany) the offer conversion and distribution
services to all European countries. Winpac have been using
Cortec for a number of years, since they were part of m-real.
|
| The challenge |
Since becoming independent, Winpacs customer base has grown
and they are now demanding more upto the minute information
on order progression and stock levels. Customers want to receive
information about stock reciepts and dispatches, so that invoices
can be sent as soon as possible and their stock levels can
be kept at accurate levels. Unfortunately, not all of Winpac's
customers use the same messaging protocols. Currently the
list includes XML, edi and csv.
|
| The solution |
With Cortec, Winpac developed an API into the product. This
meant that we could take any message and translate it into the
structure required by the API. Winpac were one of the first
companies in the UK to be using the paper industries XML messaging
standard papiNet, when communicating with Hedsorboard.
|
| The benefits |
Many of Winpac's customers now invest heavily in Information
Technology. They demand live information from their suppliers.
By investing in B2B technology Winpac can offer something many
of their competitors do not. This investment means that most
orders are created automatically from customer messages (XML,
EDI or bespoke text files) which allows administrators to concerntrate
of other areas of customer service.
